Difference from standard Win+L lock
Lots of Windows 2000/XP users are confused: "Why a third-party utility
for my Windows? I can lock my computer with a simple keystroke without any Lock
My PC software. What else can Lock My PC give me?".
Windows "Lock Computer" command locks your computer safely, but anyone
who has Windows Administrator's privileges may unlock your computer. Such unlock
will force to close your session (all unsaved changes will be lost).
When you lock computer with Lock My PC, no any Windows Administrator's password
will unlock your computer.
The other favors of Lock My PC:
- Option allowing you to check if anyone tried to unlock your computer;
- Transparent Lock Screen options - you computer can be used as a presentation
machine - the screen displays pictures or video, but nobody can touch your
computer (some of our customers even use Lock My PC with Windows Servers -
e.g. you may lock your print server with transparent lock screen and users
or administrators will monitor job processing.
- Secure Lock before Windows logon screen - if you don't want users to access
your computer without your permission, you can lock your computer at startup
(before Windows logon screen);
- Option to lock CD/DVD ROM doors.
