These tutorials explain how to use Hide Folders to hide and unhide folders and how to use password protection.
Hiding folders
Using File Explorer or your preferred file manager, create a test folder to hide (for example, C:\TestFolder).
Copy some test files into this folder.
Start Hide Folders.
Click the Add button.
In the dialog box that appears, browse to C:\TestFolder and click the OK button.
Make sure that C:\TestFolder appears in the list of protected objects.
Click the Enable button if protection is not already enabled.
Open File Explorer or your preferred file manager and verify that C:\TestFolder is no longer visible.
Note: You may still see C:\TestFolder or its contents if the file manager was already open before the folder was hidden. Refresh the file list and C:\TestFolder will disappear.
Restart your computer.
After the restart, C:\TestFolder remains invisible.
Unhiding folders
Start Hide Folders again.
Click the Disable button.
Open File Explorer or your preferred file manager and verify that C:\TestFolder is visible again.
To make C:\TestFolder permanently visible:
Switch to Hide Folders.
Select C:\TestFolder in the list.
Click the Remove button.
Password protection
Click the Password button.
The Change password window appears.
Enter and confirm your password in the appropriate fields, then click OK.
Quit Hide Folders.
Start Hide Folders again. The Password prompt window appears. The Hide Folders main window appears only after you enter a valid password.

1. In the trial version of Hide Folders, the only available password is 'demo'.
2. If your password does not match the confirmation password, the OK button will be disabled in the Change password window.
